Established in 2023, Photon Profile Services was founded by Dylan and Murray, who identified an opportunity to provide specialised support to the logging and primary industries in New Zealand’s Central North Island. The company primarily manufactures components for sawmills, logging equipment, and stock trucks, with a particular focus on truck bodies and the heavy transport sector. In addition, Photon undertakes custom sheet metal projects for various industries in and around Rotorua, working with materials ranging from 0.9mm to 25mm in thickness.
From its inception, Photon Profile Services invested in advanced manufacturing technology, ordering and installing the VENTIS 3015-AJ fibre laser as a cornerstone of its operations. Dylan remarks, “The AMADA Ventis Fibre Laser has been an excellent addition to our workshop.” The machine’s versatility in processing different materials has proven invaluable, particularly for the diverse requirements of custom sheet metal work. As the team expands and apprentices develop their skills, Dylan and Murray have found the AMNC 3i control system (currently being offered as upgraded AMNC 4i) instrumental in streamlining training, ensuring efficiency, and enhancing workplace safety. The system’s intuitive interface allows for complex manufacturing processes to be automated at the touch of a button, reducing preparation time from hours to minutes and enabling a small team to operate with maximum productivity.
The VENTIS 3015-AJ has played a crucial role in Photon’s steady growth, establishing a reputation for delivering high-quality, precision-engineered products on schedule. Dylan has quickly adapted to the machine’s advanced capabilities and has been particularly impressed with the technical support provided by AMADA Auckland, especially for bespoke sheet metal projects that require innovative solutions.
Looking ahead, Photon is considering expanding its capabilities further by adding another press brake to its workshop, with a turret punch also on the horizon as part of its future growth strategy.
