AMADA Commences Orders for User-Friendly and Environmentally-Friendly EGB Series Servo-Controlled Press Brakes

AMADA CO., LTD. (Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director, President: Takaaki Yamanashi) is pleased to announce that from May 17th, it will begin accepting official orders for the user-friendly and environmentally-friendly EGB Series servo-controlled press brakes the company announced at its new AMADA GLOBAL INNOVATION CENTER (AGIC) facility.

The EGB Series is a lineup of new high-speed, high-precision servo-controlled press brakes that meet a variety of needs. The lineup includes a standalone unit, unit with automatic tool changer (ATC), and unit with an automated robot bender. These machines utilise our new AMNC 4ie controller to achieve advanced user-friendly and environmentally-friendly operation. They can be used by anyone, anywhere, based on the concept of four “E”s: Easy (can be used by anyone), Efficiency (can be used anywhere), Environmental (environmentally friendly), and Evolution (Growing Together with Our Customers).

The EGB Series comes with a guidance system that enables even inexperienced operators to perform their work with confidence as if they were receiving on-the-spot instruction from an experienced operator. This greatly increases worker productivity. In addition, its newly developed back gauge system and proximity monitor enable reliable and trouble-free sheet-metal bending. It can handle machining in a variety of industries, from small workpieces for computers and telecommunications equipment, which require high machining accuracy, to large workpieces for cover parts of industrial machinery and special vehicle parts, which are complex in shape.

Furthermore, the EGB Series incorporates a new environmentally friendly servo-drive system. Compared with conventional hybrid servo-hydraulic systems, the new system reduces CO2 emissions by up to 20% and oil consumption by approximately 90%. This reduces environmental impact and maintenance costs. It uses our proprietary motor to enable both high pressurisation and improved machining tact time. This enhances both productivity and environmental friendliness.

Currently, the sheet metal processing industry is facing a serious shortage of labor and problems related to the aging of engineers and the training of next-generation operators. Moreover, the growing global awareness of environmental challenges has made carbon neutrality an important initiative. Moving forward, AMADA will continue to provide production innovations to its customers with its latest product lineup of machines and technologies, while also solving problems in the sheet metal processing industry and exploring manufacturing possibilities with its customers.
